Renewing The Mind
The Christian faith more than any single faith is a faith that is rooted in deep thinking.
This seven and a half minute video on YouTube is exceptionally relevant to those who are followers of Christ.
Renewing The Mind
Ezekiel 36:26 NASBS
[26] Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
The Christian life is the battle for the mind — John Stott
HEAD KNOWLEDGE:
I hear all this truth in my head but it has not made it to my heart.
If you missed that the Christian life is the renewing and submitting of the mind, you’ve missed everything.
1 Peter 1:13 NASBS
[13] Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

[17] So this I say, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk no longer just as the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind, [20] But you did not learn Christ in this way, [21] if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus, [22] that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, [23] and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, [24] and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

And then pray!
God open my eyes!

The Christian faith more than any single faith is a faith that is rooted in deep thinking.
This is a lifelong battle.
We have to renew our mind
We have to prepare our mind first action
Morally Neutral Things
What are the morally neutral things in your life that aren’t explicitly sin that cause you to sin?
The things that lead you down a pathway in your mind where you mind is not engaged…
Even with the Godliest prophet in the Old Testament Elijah, when faith is not exercised, he is reduced to be as weak as water.
When we disengage it gives us a sense of relaxation and repose that causes us to forget we are in a battle — that is why we must look at the armor of God. There is no armor for the back because we are never supposed to run — we are always engaged!
We cannot go through periods of lazy rivering the Christian life because it will discourage us.
Satan is a roaring lion!
You think you can take a day off?
You need to be in the Bible each day — renewing the mind.
Who are the people you are surrounding yourself with — the Christian life is intended to be lived in community.
If you walk with the wise, they will help and encourage you in this battle.
