Many people will put effort into their "last will and testament" and into "trusts" and so many things that associate with temporal earthly things to help their families after they die. Yet how many are putting effort into their "Rapture Kit" (that is my name for it) for those “left behind?”
This is a deliberate and easy to find arrangement of materials that will be useful for those family members and friends that have not accepted Christ Jesus as their Savior and LORD and could find themselves "LEFT BEHIND" in the Rapture. We know that the best indicator for how close the Rapture is would be the status of the nation of Israel. How is Israel being treated in the world and what is the world's position and obsession with anti-Israel rhetoric and action? This evil and unfavorable attitude toward Israel is the leading indicator of the proximity of the Rapture in the very near future. We cannot know the precise day or hour, but we can certainly tell by the "season" and most especially in relationship to the world toward Israel.
The Rapture Kit
So what do you put into your "Rapture Kit" for your family and friends to find after you have been shown unmerited grace and mercy simply for your faith and trust in Jesus? I have identified five items for the Rapture Kit:
A Personal Letter - Tell your family and friends that you prepared this in advance and that your hope and prayer is that they would carefully consider the evidence and the explanation of the event that has just transpired and the decision that they will need to make and are fortunate to be able to make now before it is too late. This personal letter can be placed (and I think should be placed) in proximity to or within your Bible. This makes it easy to find and it enables them to have a bit of a guide to supporting scripture within your Bible (that has hopefully been generously marked up with proper highlights on the matters addressing salvation through Jesus Christ.
A Bible - Be sure to have at least one Bible to leave behind and if you are able make multiple Bibles available for discovery after the Rapture. Be sure that these Bibles are marked up and annotated where passages relate to salvation by Christ alone and the glorious purpose of God in the redemption of sinful man by the blood of His Son Jesus. The BIble is hopefully going to be a guide to their daily walk and to a faith that they embrace after having read your personal letter to them.
An After the Rapture DVD - Be sure to have a DVD or "watchable" form of material that your family and friends can experience following the Rapture. They may need to be "spoken to" by actual voices and personalities on screen and may not have the personal strength or confidence or motivation to read your letter. Each family member or friend will respond differently to the post-Rapture events and so its good to have some alternative media items to share with them.
An After the Rapture Booklet - This is a very basic but highly condensed message with some visual queues that the family member or friend will be able to quickly consume and relate to the experiences that they have encountered. It is good to have some "quick to consume" material to help guide the heart and mind of the person that is going to be confused, subject to deception, and very emotional.
A "Missed the Rapture?" Book - This is a nice detailed book that helps the person understand with much greater detail all of the events that are on the horizon within the 7-year Tribulation period that is likely underway by the time the family member or friend has found the "Rapture Kit." It is useful to have a more detailed treatment in your kit and it completes the material in a basic kit.
In addition to a 'Rapture Kit" you should consider having lots of Bibles in different translations (ESV, LSB, NASB, KJV, NKJV, ASV, and maybe a few others) around your home. You should also have such items in your car (or bags if you are a motorcycle rider like me with a "bagger" in your inventory.
From my perspective, the minimal "Rapture Kit" is a Bible with your personal letter. My letter is 11 pages long and it addresses the basics of deception that is taking over the world, the lies that the evil one has put forward to diminish the truth of Christ, and most importantly, the true Gospel message and the decision that the family member or friend will have to make prior to their death.
So brothers and sisters, please consider putting together your own Rapture Kit for those that you will leave behind as you are taken home to be with Christ for eternity.
