Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Therefore watch and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears - blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.
Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming - in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth….
Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man. Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore, if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. What I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”
Regarding the primary word “Watch” use here in our reading, there are 3 main greek words used by Jesus Christ and The Apostles.
watch Greek: (1) gregoreuo, to keep awake, literally and or figuratively, to be in a state of vigilances, being watchful, on the alert, to keep watch.
watch Greek: (2) tereo. to set a guard, to continue the watch or the guard to be the guardian, to be keeping your eyes open and on the horizon.
