Will America Turn Back to God?
The right of God to allow mankind’s free choices is just as necessary for true sovereignty as His ability to enact His will, wherever and however He chooses.
REPENTANCE and PRAYER?
Will we heed repentance and prayer needed now at a national level?
It must be clarified from the outset that America is NOT Israel. Replacement theology has no part in God’s plans and purposes. God’s covenant promises to national Israel will be fulfilled according to God’s timing and for His glory.
Yet with that foundation, we can certainly learn from the prophet Jeremiah and the message he delivered to a non-repentant Israel in his time.
Are you looking to the world for help?" God asks. "It is going to fail. You're going to be ashamed."
This is true of how we approach everything from a personal “self-focus” to a presumption that better political choices will itself restore and heal a nation under wrath.
The apostate church says there is truth in a generation of relativism, a church embracing a new theology of religion as mere psychology.
Perhaps we need more John Bunyans for this time to point out what occurs when men turn to Vanity Fair.
Will we look directly to God for help?
As Hudson Taylor used to say, it must be the Lord's work done in the Lord's way. So it is essential for the Church of our time to consider the message Jeremiah gave to the Jews and the nation of Israel at his time. And ask yourself, was it a light message?
What Jeremiah said was, "You are going on to utter destruction because you have turned away from God and because you will not repent.”
The God who works in history is going to bring upon your culture utter destruction." And so he writes in Jeremiah 1:14, "Then the Lord said unto me, Out of the north an evil shal break forth upon al the inhabitants of the land! " And in 5:15, "Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, saith the LORD; it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language thou knowest not, neither understandest what they say."
The whole book is full of such prophecy. Utter destruction is coming upon your whole culture, utter destruction, unless there is reformation.
Consider how many individuals that are opposed to the Constitutional Republic of America and its former Judeo-Christian culture, especially from the Middle East, and from China, are entering in large numbers now through an open southern border. It’s instructive to review God’s warning to Israel through Jeremiah again.
Jeremiah 5:15
[15] "Behold, I am bringing a nation against you from afar, O house of Israel," declares the LORD. "It is an enduring nation, It is an ancient nation, A nation whose language you do not know, Nor can you understand what they say.
And what happens when men turn away from God?
When men turn away from God, the city becomes the city of destruction. "And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant" (Jeremiah 9:11).
